Emma Marie Thompson was born on the 8th of October, 1985, in Brisbane, Australia, to parents Margaret and Robert Thompson. Margaret, a social worker, and Robert, a high school teacher, imbued Emma with a strong sense of community and dedication to helping others from an early age.
